The Boys in the Band by Mart Crowley (1968)

Feels about as wholesome as smoking cigarettes and drinking whiskey.  Perhaps interesting as a time capsule period piece.  But subsequent developments have stolen a lot of the drama moments, i.e., “Oh my god!  THESE GUYS ARE ALL GAY!!!!”  A good range of characters, but also some cliches.  Meanwhile it’s 1968 but nary a peep about any larger issues in the world.
